Buyer Best Practices

The following list mentions a number of best practices which can improve your experience when using BidSwitch.

• Integrate with the latest version of the BidSwitch protocol, see the BidSwitch Buyer Protocol v5.3 section.

• Ensure user groups are well defined for SmartSwitch as this increases the quality of traffic sent to Buyers, see the SmartSwitch User Optimization section.

• Don’t demand more than your QPS limit as it could result in server overload, QPS Overview and Controls.

• To reduce latency between your servers and BidSwitch, set your server locations as close as possible. See the BidSwitch Data Centres section.

• To reduce latency between your servers use gzip when sending or receiving data, see the Data Compression (gzip) section.

• Keep connections alive.

• Ensure that your creatives pass the Creative Approval process at each Supplier you are trading with. BidSwitch provides APIs for submitting creatives for approval, and checking their status.
